Octopus Flux is Octopus Energy's combined import and export time-of-use tariff aimed at homes with solar panels and a battery. Octopus's Flux product page describes cheap overnight hours, a late-afternoon peak window for import and export, and eligibility that includes a connectable smart meter, solar, a home battery, existing Octopus import and export tariffs, and a copy of the MCS document for your installation before the switch completes.
Habo's longer guide keeps the current status wording: Octopus Flux is available to sign up to as of the 10 October 2026 check against the Octopus product list (Flux import and export, plus Intelligent Octopus Flux import). The live Flux page still explains how to join. Always recheck Octopus before you switch, because products and rates move.
What it means for a home battery
Flux is one export-aware option among several, including separate SEG export tariffs. A battery without solar still earns its keep from cheap overnight import alone on a tariff such as Octopus Go (eligible Go households charge an EV at home under terms 2.1.3). For the live status, competing Octopus export products, and how that sits next to SEG, read Octopus Flux in 2026. Leave rates and worked savings to that guide. Habo's offer is an electrician-wired EcoFlow STREAM from £2,499. Join the waitlist.

Octopus's Flux page says you need a smart meter with half-hourly readings, a solar system and home battery, and to already be on import and export tariffs with Octopus. Octopus also says it needs a copy of the MCS document for your installation before it can complete your switch.
No. Without solar, export tariffs do not apply. Habo's main battery saving story is cheap overnight import on a tariff such as Octopus Go.
